Based on all that and the amount of time that's gone by, I think it's pretty clear that he's indeed abandoned the game. But, the fact is, he's never posted a single status update on his development log on Itch.io for the past year explaining anything about the delay. Now, stuff happens and games get delayed. He's said this repeatedly but has never followed though on anything for a year now. I (and several others) contacted him several times over the past year asking about the status of the game and the delayed update and his answer has consistently been that it was coming really soon and he would be removing a lot of things from the update and doing much smaller updates in the future. Exactly a year ago this week he announced on his development log that the next update release was coming in September 2020. The developer announced it was for sale and some other info on it here a year ago saying that it was his life's dream to develop it. So the reason I'm looking for something like this is CoQ feels "incomplete", the fact that there are majour things changing here and there rubs me the wrong way whilst I play.Īnyone that's perhaps thinking about buying the 3D roguelike Dungeons of Anoma ( ), just don't do it. I also have my eyes on Dwarf Fortress, but god knows when that things will release (in Steam) I have my eyes on Cogmind, and I like how modern-like how everything plays whilst keeping it's superb aesthetics, but the lack of actual worldbuilding/openworldness to it is what's making me hold back from buying it. In CoQ, I find myself "resetting" my bearings whenever I take a turn in a very chaotic scenario, where my followers and a large army of enemies are casting spells (AoEs in particular), shooting things, etc. "Clear" visuals, in the sense that chaos and too many things happening doesn't make stuff hard to comprehend.Possibly has worldbuilding (but not really I am very particular about). Some dungeon crawlning, but not as tedious as CoQ's (I know this is one of the main thing of Roguelikes, but I just want to take a shot).Recruitable NPCs, or just ALOT of NPCs around.Smooth animations, despite being static (I disliked TOME for having a dated-like "feel" on the animations and stuff). So I'm looking for a game particularly similar to CoQ in regards to the following:
